Should I keep the borders? Or change it to something else? Keep the dark gradient showing her demise?

Wow. I love the way you've drawn the characters, their hairs look awesome!
The only critique I could give you is that probably the witch wouldn't stay upright and stare into the viewer after she's been stabbed, it's a bit stiff. And the blood on the knife looks really thick.
